I was recently running Windows XP x64 to take advantage of the 64-bit Athlon processor in my machine.  But of course there were problems.  I was unable to listen to sounds that needed software rendering due to driver issues.  Another problem was that with iTunes and my iPod software, I had to mess around and enable a few settings before it would allow me to add songs to my iPods.  This was getting quite annoying and since I had free time, I’m back online with 32-bit Windows.  For anyone with a 64-bit processor, I would wait to get an OS that is better updated, such as waiting for Vista when it comes out, or going with a non-Windows OS.  I am sticking with XP until Vista comes out and is stable, because I do not feel like messing around with Betas or OS’s that are extremely vulnerable.  But I am looking forward to the improvements that are in the new Windows OS.

I changed my theme back to one of the default themes. ::justin(”):: has been working on a new theme for my site, which I look forward to, but I was tired of seeing the dark theme I had before. I know that some of the extra features are gone, like the pictures, little thumbnails, and of course the ads that I know EVERYONE was clicking on, but I needed a change. I am going to look into how to start working on my own design along with my learning Ruby on Rails. I was informed of a competition for Ruby, but realized I had no one else to enter it with even if I was fluent in Ruby. Hopefully I will be able to get online at home so I may start coding in Ruby and be ready for the next competition. If anyone has any good documents or resources for Ruby (and Ruby on Rails), please either post the link in the comments or fill out the form and send me an email. I have some of my own findings but would gladly appreciate any help I can get.

Well for whatever reason, my iPod Shuffle stopped allowing me to write or mount it on my computer.  This means I was able to see it on my computer, but unable to write any songs, or access it enough to update the software.  Sounds like I was in trouble right?  Wrong.  Apple’s 1-year service allows me to request another iPod Shuffle and then send them back mine for no fee.  It took them 1 day to process my request, and another to ship it through DHL.  I am impressed.  Just wanted to give them some recognition on quality service as well as their products.
