Well this past Saturday, my father was married in Reno (actually Lake Tahoe). We stayed at a nice hotel with a bad battery backup plan. Needless to say, it was a very good time, and I hope to post pictures soon. We arrived and went into our room which was upgraded to a nice suite. Justin also came, and his suite was upgraded to a monstrous suite that had around 5 beds in it. We walked down to the beach, ate some good food, and spent way too much time driving around the damn lake. We went to a casino called the Horizon, in which Justin, Kristin, and I learned to play craps. The next time I go to a casino that has craps, that will probably be my game of choice. Anyhow, my father was married on a cliff overlooking the lake, which was quite beautiful. The last day, we had to get to the airport by 7:30-8, but we had to take a shuttle that left before 6. Well the only one available was at 5, which meant we had to be up at 4 am to pack. Justin and I decided to stay awake and play games at the casino, while Kristin took a nap before we left. Overall the trip was fun, but I’m glad to be home for a bit before we go to Kansas City for Kristin’s sister Whitney’s graduation.
Well today is my birthday, and yesterday was Kristin’s, so there’s been a lot of gifts flying around. Yesterday we went out to see Fracture, which was decent, but not what we expected. I kind of knew what was going to happen each time, but it wasn’t terrible. We then went to Senor Tequila’s and had a big mama and some dinner, which was pretty darn tasty. I then got the bright idea of going to Night Trips, which was fun, but at the same time disappointing. Not any “hot” strippers, so it was only fun for the first 30-45 minutes. Anyhow, today I am trying to relax, and I’m waiting until Kristin gets off work to open presents. Basically just hanging out with Maggie and waiting for phone calls. I may update my flickr, so look out for that. Stay tuned, because I shall be updating my website more often, and without stupid rants that I’m sure you can’t wait to not read.Â
Well school is over, and I’ve had a lot go on since I last update my site. I hope to stay with it, but who knows. Well let’s start from where I left off. The TV that Casey and I won was a 50″ SXRD 1080p TV from Sony. We have had to upgrade our cable service to HD in order to take full advantage, and everything looks amazing with it.
Besides that, I had been dealing with school. I have 2 grades reported as of now (an A and a B) and expect the last to be an A. I could have pulled out a 4.0 but got lazy midway through the semester on a paper that was around 25% of my grade. Oh well, I am still happy with my grades and look forward to my little time off before my summer school starts in June.
My birthday is in a few days, and so is Kristin’s (since she’s born on the 9th, and I on the 10th), so we are planning on celebrating together. On other celebrations, Kristin and I are going to fly to Reno where my father is getting married. Yes I plan on doing a little gambling, and will take picture if I win big, like I did last time.
Summer has started, and I am looking forward to relaxing, fishing, and hanging out with ::scott(”):: , especially since he’s leaving in June. Maggie’s been doing well, except she doesn’t like to be running around in the heat for extended periods of time, she tends to vomit (or it might be because she ate ::scott(”)::’s workout glove, who knows).
I just recently went to Kristin’s graduation and had a great time hanging out with her and her family, who are some of the funniest group of people to hang out with and extremely nice. She’s starting graduate school this summer, and will be in a class with me in the fall before I graduate and cry because I’m having to join the real world.
Besides that, I am just working at TU, like normal, and trying to find something productive to do besides play poker when I don’t have work to do (which it looks like this summer is going to be a little slow). Casey and I are learning Spanish through Rosetta Stone, and I will probably bring it to work with me in order to do something with my free time. Maybe I’ll get back into do some computer stuff, but who knows, as of right now, I’m happy I have no extra responsibilities besides the normal ones. Hope everyone is having a good summer, and I hope to write here soon.
P.S. Flickr will be updated with pictures from my house, and probably more pictures of Madison that Kristin took when we were down in Houston. I can’t wait to see her, but do not look forward to the drive (that’s why I’ll most likely fly!).
Casey and I were sitting at Magoo’s playing some pool, enjoying our free day. There was a radio station inside broadcasting and giving away t-shirts and what not. So we start to listen and find out what’s going on. The rules are that if your number is called (they are giving away tickets at the door, one per person) you get to go up there and pick a numbered envelope 1-80 which contains either a team that’s in the NCAA tournament, which takes up 64 tickets) or a prize (which could be a pair of tickets to the OKC Hornets upcoming games).
Now what does this have to do with us? Bare with me…. Read the rest of this entry »
I have finally finished taking exams in 2 of my classes (the third does not have exams) and writing a 20 page paper in my third class. I have another 20 page paper thats due in the third class, but that’s not for a month. Work is calming down, and I’m getting caught up since reorganizing my schedule. I don’t have any big projects or homework assignments for awhile, and it feels good not to have anything to worry about getting done. I just updated my flickr account with some photos of Madison, my hair, Kristin, and other random things. I just got my computer back online and hope to get situated nicely. I will be taking some photos of my new house soon once I get some more things up, and my homework caught up on. School is going well, and my SIF class is starting to get really interesting and busy. My car is going to be completely fixed soon, and my two problem tires hopefully mended. My hand is feeling better, and I hope to fully recuperate soon. Maggie is doing well, and Casey and I are having a good time living together, much like freshman and sophmore year. We have a few things we want to get for the house and do to the house, and hopefully we can get them done soon (most likely with ::scott(”)::’s help). Kristin and I are thinking about visiting my brother in Houston, but not sure about time, especially if my father’s wedding is then. Who knows, but I will keep you all posted.
Ok, well first off, it’s been awhile and I’m sorry it’s taken me this long to post. What’s new you asked? Well actually a lot has taken place. Let’s go in order. I am currently dating a lovely lady named Kristin. I even visited her over break after I visited my Grandmother in New York (I met my father up there also). True I did have to spend 11 hours in Detriot because of some issues such as not having a flight crew and a malfunctioning plane, but I finally arrived there for New Years. It was a great time. I finished my first semester of Graduate school with two B’s and an A, which is overall not bad, but I’m shooting for a 4.0 this semester with my Student Investment Fund, MIS, and Management classes that I am taking. On a dumb note, I broke my hand hitting a door in anger, which I do not care to go into, but realize that it was quite stupid. I moved out of the house I rented with Justin when I got back into town and now currently reside about 2 miles away with Casey. Nothing is wrong with Justin, we’re just not good roommates together. Anyhow, it was good seeing more of him the other day when he took the 5 of us to lunch (Scott, Casey, Kristin, him and I) and I am very glad that he has quit smoking. So that’s about what’s happened and I am happy to say that I look forward to this year. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year, along with any Holiday festivities that they may celebrate.
What I mean by seasonal activity is that around this time each year, thing start to get a little hectic in life, at least for me anyway. School tends to drop some tests and papers all around this time, there’s presents to buy for the various holidays, and then if I’m lucky enough, I get to go visit a family member.
Well school is right on track, with this paper taking up a lot of my time, and at the same time annoying me tremendously. It has to deal with the link between accounting information and the marketing realm, and then how that deals with decisions based on the customer. It is quite interesting, but at the same time very annoying to have to deal with writing it with someone else (due to writing styles, times we can meet and work on it together, etc.). I have never written a paper with anyone else, so this is a new experience.
Later in this week, more precisely Thursday, I have an Economics test. I have no started studying, but I have been caught up on all of the reading except one chapter, which is better than where I was at the last test. I have also found out that many of the multiple choice are taken from online quizes that I was unaware existed. I am glad I have this new information and feel better about the outcome of this upcoming test, even though I have not started “officially” studying for it yet.
I have not bought any gifts for the holiday season yet, but have a clue on what I am going to get a few people. It’s not that I hate going shopping, but it is sending and wrapping the packages that I find most annoying. If I could buy something, and just hand it to the person, I would much happier.
Lastly, I am able to go visit my family this year. It has been awhile since I could see all of them, but I will soon have my wish. I am going to go to my mother’s during Thanksgiving and will meet my brother, Brenda, and Madison (YAY!) there. I am really excited about seeing Madison since she was so small last time (I’m sure she’s still small, but you know what I mean). After that, I get to go visit my grandmother for her birthday and Christmas. It’s not that I celebrate Christmas, but I will gladly celebrate my grandmother celebrating Christmas. I again get to meet my brother, Brenda, and Madison (YAY AGAIN!) in New York, and will also get to see my dad. I’m not sure how long it’s been since I’ve seen any of them, but I am glad I get to talk to them a few times a week (sometimes even daily).
The only thing I think is going to be a drag is celebrating Hanukkah alone. I know I can go to the Temple, but I feel strange doing so by myself, and would rather do it alone. The funny thing about Hanukkah is that I have to control myself to open only one gift a night. If there’s more than 8, then I open them all up on the last day, but sometimes you dont have enough to go the entire 8 days. I believe I accidentally opened a Kahlua shaker that I ordered from the internet as a gift from my dad. I was extremely confused when I opened it and said, “Why the hell would my dad send me this?”. Anyhow, I hope that everyone starts to get their shopping done soon, because we’ve all been in that situation. In one week I will be with my mother and also trying out her new Fios connection through Verizon. She also has on-demand television which will be fun to try out also. I will keep you all updated on the events of the upcoming week or two.
So I received a phone call a few minutes ago here at work. It’s been a slow day, and this call definately made it worth while. So this woman calls in and informs me she is a student and has a question but it’s not about anything on campus. She tells me that she was looking through her browser history and she saw some profiles of girls. She said she asked her boyfriend about it, and he said he was simply changing some settings and it must have done it on its own. I informed her that when I look through my history, I can see where I looked at people’s photos on facebook, etc., and it was because I clicked on them. She then asked, just to make sure, that there was no possible way that messing with settings would automatically look at these girls profiles. When I informed her it would not, she said, “Well he’s caught. Thanks.” I hung up the phone and could not stop laughing.
A few things I have to say about the situation. First off, don’t bullshit when you need not. Looking at photos is not that big of a deal (in my opinion) but lying about it is. Second, if you are going to be doing shit that your significant other might get mad about, ie. looking at other girls’ profiles, learn how to clear your private data such as cookies, cache, and history. Finally, and most importantly, if your girlfriend is that upset, either don’t be with her if she acts that jealous, or stop doing it, plain and simple. I have been known to get jealous about stuff like that a few years ago, but I wouldn’t have been upset about it unless she did lie to me about looking at their profiles. But at the same time, if they’re friends, it may just be that, checking out your friends.
Analyze things before you jump to conclusions. That’s the best advice I can give. Or get out of the situation if it bothers you that much.
Well since the last time, I’ve had a few interesting things go on. I was able to aquire another loaner so they could replace my bumper, which looks excellent. I was given another 3-series, but this time it was a 2006 BMW 330XI with the premium package. It only had 3000 miles on it and was very fun to drive. I went to Octoberfest wtih a few friends, which was overall pretty entertaining and the beer was decent. Then I went to sewer party, with the naughty or nice theme. I just dressed normally and said I was “nice Nick”, which many people found entertaining. School is getting busy, and I have a few things that need to be done yesterday (if you get my drift). Looking forward to Thanksgiving so I can see my brother, my mother, and my neice (she’s able to smile now!). When I’ve been getting bored, been playing poker, which I have actually made a decent return. I have a $25,000 tournament that I’ve been automatically signed up for due to receiving points from playing. So far there’s around 175 people in, and hopefully I can come away with a nice amount of cash. I will keep you posted.
