Doubull Mastiff

So after looking at puppies (unfortunately I’ve decided to hold off on this), I couldn’t find a bull mastiff that looked like Maggie or Daisy.  Finally, after talking with my mother, I found out they were both crossbreeds.  Their mother was a purebred bull mastiff (60% mastiff, 40% bulldog) and their father was a purebred mastiff.  Thus after looking on the internet for this awesome mixture (as you can see by the pictures on my site here, or on my flickr) I found out that they are called Doubull Mastiff’s (80% English Mastiff, 20% English Bulldog).

I was reading that someone said crossbreeding is bad, but I am not going to chalk up their life spans to them being crossbred, but simply something that their mother or father passed along, which could have happened to a purebred.  Anyhow, I enjoyed the look of my doubull mastiffs because while they were bigger than the average bull mastiff (they weighed around 130-140), they weren’t so big that they looked fat or anything as some people have described purebred mastiffs to be.

Been A While

So it’s been a very long time that I have updated anyone on here.  But here’s a little run through.

I’ve since moved from my previous location to living by myself downtown in an apartment.  While there are disadvantages, I am liking most of the advantages that comes with it.  I also am looking forward to being downtown for events, easily walkable places to visit/eat, and the overall atmosphere.

Professionally, work is going as expected, and my endeavours at JustTheWeb and Zeruck are beyond expectations.  Justin and I are very please with the business we are attracting and are very hopeful for the future.  TU is going well, although they are hurting from the economic situation also, but everyone is keeping their job, so far.

Not sure what else to write about at the moment, my mind is going blank.  Just want to say congradulations to Scott for doing an awesome job on his tests for Arabic.  Also very pleased that he’ll only be 7 hours away in Texas soon.

Besides that, I hope all is well and wish everyone well.  I look forward to doing new things this year and catching up with old friends.  So feel free to drop me a line whenever!  Oh and I almost forgot.  I will try and post more frequently and keep you all updated.

Oh and for those curious to know why I put that monkey on, I am not sure.  I like monkeys, and that was the first one that came up when I searched for monkeys.  Plus, he looks cool!  He’s like fonzie, but as a monkey.

The New Year

So the new year has come and the past few weeks has allowed me to think about things that are happening in my life and those that are to come.  I was glad to see Mr. Harvey off from the Army Marines (haha I had to say it Scott) and will be even happier once he’s in driving distance.  I am sad to have my girlfriend going back to KC for a bit.  And I am glad that Justin and I are doing well in business together, and that Casey and I have figured some things out.

As for my job, I look forward to the possibilities that may be awaiting, but am trying to be both optimistic and realistic.  Just The Web is doing really well, and Zeruck is handling it’s own.  Very soon we should have both very stable and a great system in place.

Overall,  I am just trying to not be as anxious and anal about things and be more optimistic about people.  I hope this year goes well for everyone, including myself.  Happy New Year everyone!

Today I had to put Maggie Mae down.  Those of you that had met her knew how much I cared for her, and how nice and loving of a dog she was to everyone.  I am not going to go into detail, but she had a tumor and removing it would maybe give her 2-6 months more to live, and that quality of life would be subpar.

I sit here and try to think of all the good times I had with her and her sister Daisy Mae.  It is hard to imagine life without being able to come home to her wagging tail.  I am not sure what else I can state about how GREAT of a dog she was.  I will miss her terribly and just want her to know I love her.

As many of you know, I just finished my first week at my new job.  I am training to be the Web Application Developer for .NET.  I am trying to figure out what is the best method to go about training myself to be MCTS and then MCPD with focusing in on ASP.NET for the 3.5 Framework.

I currently have chosen to lean toward C# for development over Visual Basic.  To me, it is much closer to languages I already am familiar with, such as Java, and would be an easier syntax for me to learn.

Back to training.  I am trying to decide what is the best method, classes, online, books, but more specifically what combinaton of these.  I have the 2 books that Microsoft had suggested for the two exams I have to take for my MCTS.  Not sure where else to go from there.  I have approximately 9 months to be MCPD certified, which seems a bit hefty, but hopefully I can do it.

Anyhow, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.  Thanks!

Palin Interview on YouTube.

I had to write an article about this.  It’s basically like she doesn’t know what he’s talking about so she just makes up whatever she wants.  She could use this answer I once gave on an exam for which I knew nothing about the answer.

“Due to the fact that I haven’t been informed to the highest degree of accuracy, I hesitate to articulate in fear of deviating from the true course of rectitude.”

Instead she doesn’t want to seem like she may not know about something or say, “You know, I would have to think about that” or anything of the sort.  Instead she just rambles on and ignores her ignorance and spews out whatever.

I am scared that she could be VP because she doesn’t have any experience.  And even more scared because she has a legitimate chance of being Pres b/c of McCain’s age.  I am not saying I hate McCain or love Obama, I am saying that she has no clue what is going on and in no way should have been chosen as a running mate.  Whatever vote I was going to choose, I can’t ignore that she would be a huge liability if McCain was elected due to this lack of experience.

Well here’s what happened.  Justin organized a clean up of Tulsa Centennial park from ThisTulsa.com where he got many people whom he knew and some who he did not, come and clean up trash from one of our parks.  Well myself and KJ accompanied Justin and others and decided to put our free time on a nice Sunday to good use.  Little did we know one of the local stations covered the story, and we ended up on television.  Take a look at the video l labelled, “Concerned Citizens Rid Park of Trash“.  Kristin and I are the first people after the anchor from the news.  We plan on doing more community service soon, hopefully something with animals!

So being bored sometimes leads to silly things.   One of them that I did this weekend was dye my hair.   I will have some pictures on here, or on facebook (maybe myspace) too, so wherever you check, you should be able to see my strange hair.   Anyhow, I’ve gotten “Lost a bet?”, “Is this for March Madness?”, “What was the motivation?”, among other questions about my hair.   Simply put, I did it just because I could I guess.   It won’t last long, especially since two people already said “I liked your normal hair better”, but in the end I did it for myself, not them.   But I do appreciate the feedback.   Anyhow, pictures to come soon.

That is right, I finally died my hair again.  Was bored and figured it would look as cool as the first time I did it (like 8 years ago).  Not so sure if it is as cool, but it definitely is a change.  The burn was so bad when I had to bleach it a second time right afterwards due to the thickness of my hair, and then came a third burn with the toner.  The toner was probably the worst, maybe because of how much was on it, or because my head was already extremely sensitive from being burned by the bleach twice before.  Either way, I will post some photos so everyone can enjoy a good laugh.

Started Classes Again

I just got back from Denver with Kristin, and had a great time visiting with her Mom and Sister.  Monday came, and the first day of my summer school class began.  It was not bad at all, and I’ve had the teacher before, who seems to like me a lot.  I was trying to get Kristin in the class, but she was unable to get in, which is too bad because it looks to be a pretty easy and enjoyable class.  Anyhow, I have some pictures at home that I am going to add to my flickr and will take some pictures of the house in order to get my mother to stop asking.  Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well.  I am getting swamped at work with no one else but myself being here, so it’s a little annoying.  I will hopefully be updating the site with more interesting and appealing pictures and posts soon.
