Projects

I have a few projects that I want to get done around the house, the biggest being networking the house.  I am going to call on Scott’s brother Dave for his expertise, and most likely coax him into doing most of the work with some good drinks.  Besides that, Casey and I want to setup our sound system to have everything working well.  Lastly, we are going to setup a file server to house all of our music and movies so we can just update one computer instead of trying to mirror things we both like on our individual ones.

Technology wise, I am trying to get going on an idea or two that Justin and I came up with awhile back involving Tulsa and T-shirts (it’s two different ideas).  I am creating the databases so it will convince Justin to spend some time on the project too (as to not look like I’m being a slacker and to get some progress on the projects).  I will let you know of the progress of these endeavors and link you to the sites as soon as they are done.

Staying put for a bit

Well after going to Reno, and this last weekend going to KC for Kristin’s sister Whitney’s graduation, I am happy to be able to rest at home.  It was a great time seeing more of Kristin’s family, like her aunt and her cousin from Arizona.  We ate some excellent dinners with her parents and had a blast hanging out with her family, and running into her friends randomly.  But for me, I need to stay here for a bit and get readjusted to my house and relax.  I’m sure I’ll be off again, but until the mean time, it’s good to be back home.  I’ll be putting pictures of my house up soon, I have to retake them since I put my camera on the wrong setting and had some blurry photos.

Reno

Well this past Saturday, my father was married in Reno (actually Lake Tahoe).  We stayed at a nice hotel with a bad battery backup plan.  Needless to say, it was a very good time, and I hope to post pictures soon.  We arrived and went into our room which was upgraded to a nice suite.  Justin also came, and his suite was upgraded to a monstrous suite that had around 5 beds in it.  We walked down to the beach, ate some good food, and spent way too much time driving around the damn lake.  We went to a casino called the Horizon, in which Justin, Kristin, and I learned to play craps.  The next time I go to a casino that has craps, that will probably be my game of choice.  Anyhow, my father was married on a cliff overlooking the lake, which was quite beautiful.  The last day, we had to get to the airport by 7:30-8, but we had to take a shuttle that left before 6.  Well the only one available was at 5, which meant we had to be up at 4 am to pack.  Justin and I decided to stay awake and play games at the casino, while Kristin took a nap before we left.  Overall the trip was fun, but I’m glad to be home for a bit before we go to Kansas City for Kristin’s sister Whitney’s graduation.

Water Cups

Why is it when you order water at a fast food place, you seem to get the smallest cup possible.  I understand it’s designed so people see that you’re not stealing the soda and other drinks that cost them SOO much, but it’s not helping the customer out at all.  I tend to drink a lot of water, and that’s not an exaggeration.  I find it slightly offensive, but mostly annoying that I have to drink out of a small cup just because I don’t like to drink soda with my meal.  I like to drink water, and lot of it, so there must be a solution that works for both the customer and supplier.  How about using a normal size up, but make it clear, or a really bright color in order to see a difference.  Regardless of what they want to do, they need to understand that ordering water does not mean someone wants a splash of water with their meal.  It means they either want to watch their intake regarding drinks, or they would rather have water with their meal, neither of which they should be penalized for doing.

Birthdays!

Well today is my birthday, and yesterday was Kristin’s, so there’s been a lot of gifts flying around.  Yesterday we went out to see Fracture, which was decent, but not what we expected.  I kind of knew what was going to happen each time, but it wasn’t terrible.  We then went to Senor Tequila’s and had a big mama and some dinner, which was pretty darn tasty.  I then got the bright idea of going to Night Trips, which was fun, but at the same time disappointing.  Not any “hot” strippers, so it was only fun for the first 30-45 minutes.  Anyhow, today I am trying to relax, and I’m waiting until Kristin gets off work to open presents.  Basically just hanging out with Maggie and waiting for phone calls.  I may update my flickr, so look out for that.  Stay tuned, because I shall be updating my website more often, and without stupid rants that I’m sure you can’t wait to not read.  :)

Summer Time

Well school is over, and I’ve had a lot go on since I last update my site.  I hope to stay with it, but who knows.  Well let’s start from where I left off.  The TV that Casey and I won was a 50″ SXRD 1080p TV from Sony.  We have had to upgrade our cable service to HD in order to take full advantage, and everything looks amazing with it.

Besides that, I had been dealing with school.  I have 2 grades reported as of now (an A and a B) and expect the last to be an A.  I could have pulled out a 4.0 but got lazy midway through the semester on a paper that was around 25% of my grade.  Oh well, I am still happy with my grades and look forward to my little time off before my summer school starts in June.

My birthday is in a few days, and so is Kristin’s (since she’s born on the 9th, and I on the 10th), so we are planning on celebrating together.  On other celebrations, Kristin and I are going to fly to Reno where my father is getting married.  Yes I plan on doing a little gambling, and will take picture if I win big, like I did last time.

Summer has started, and I am looking forward to relaxing, fishing, and hanging out with ::scott(”):: , especially since he’s leaving in June.  Maggie’s been doing well, except she doesn’t like to be running around in the heat for extended periods of time, she tends to vomit (or it might be because she ate ::scott(”)::’s workout glove, who knows).

I just recently went to Kristin’s graduation and had a great time hanging out with her and her family, who are some of the funniest group of people to hang out with and extremely nice.  She’s starting graduate school this summer, and will be in a class with me in the fall before I graduate and cry because I’m having to join the real world.

Besides that, I am just working at TU, like normal, and trying to find something productive to do besides play poker when I don’t have work to do (which it looks like this summer is going to be a little slow).  Casey and I are learning Spanish through Rosetta Stone, and I will probably bring it to work with me in order to do something with my free time.  Maybe I’ll get back into do some computer stuff, but who knows, as of right now, I’m happy I have no extra responsibilities besides the normal ones.  Hope everyone is having a good summer, and I hope to write here soon.

P.S. Flickr will be updated with pictures from my house, and probably more pictures of Madison that Kristin took when we were down in Houston.  I can’t wait to see her, but do not look forward to the drive (that’s why I’ll most likely fly!).
