Casey and I were sitting at Magoo’s playing some pool, enjoying our free day. There was a radio station inside broadcasting and giving away t-shirts and what not. So we start to listen and find out what’s going on. The rules are that if your number is called (they are giving away tickets at the door, one per person) you get to go up there and pick a numbered envelope 1-80 which contains either a team that’s in the NCAA tournament, which takes up 64 tickets) or a prize (which could be a pair of tickets to the OKC Hornets upcoming games).
Now what does this have to do with us? Bare with me…. Well Casey and I asked our waitress to get us some tickets since we were way in the back by ourselves. She brings us a couple of tickets, and after about the 5th drawing, one of our numbers is called. I gave the ticket to Casey, and told him to go up there. He walks up to the front, barely making it in time before they dismissed our ticket and drew another one. Anyhow, the guy asks Casey his name, and I hear, “Jason, what number do you want?” As I’m listening, I hear Casey aka Jason pick 33 for Larry Bird. Low and behold it’s the Florida Gators, a number 1 seed, which if you watch ESPN enough, are believed to win the entire tournament. You wonder how this affects us? Well we would have a 50″ Plasma TV for having picked them. So we stay around longer, and I finally get to go up and pick an envelope. I end up with Gonzaga, which I don’t have great faith in, but they aren’t too bad. Anyhow, throughout this tourney, everyone I know should be cheering for Florida in hopes that we get our Plasma!
I shall force myself to cheer them on, even though I hate the game of basketball… yay, go gators, yay yay yay.. yeah, I’m done.
I thought that it was Casey’s (aka Jason) TV? I am sure he like it because I know I would. Well enjoy your TV Casey and Nick!
